Finding a Companion

Choosing a dog is about more than looks or breed—it’s about finding a partner that fits your lifestyle, expectations, and daily rhythms.

I use my background in education to help you navigate the research and decision-making process before a dog comes home, ensuring a smoother start for everyone involved.

What we'll explore together:

  • Life Stage Considerations: Navigating the pros and cons of puppies vs. adult dogs.

  • Lifestyle Matching: Aligning energy levels and daily routines with your future dog.

  • Research Support: Guidance through the search for breeders, shelters, and rescues.

  • Compatibility: Honest conversations about temperament and your long-term goals.

  • Expert Observation: Virtual or in-person assessment of dogs you are considering.

Format: Zoom or In-Person

Bright
Beginnings
(puppies)

The early weeks and months  with a puppy are about more than teaching skills — they’re about building trust, confidence, and a positive relationship that lasts.

Using my background in education, I help you clear up the confusion of puppyhood with fun, positive training that focuses on how puppies actually learn and thrive.

What we'll focus on together:

  • Attention & Engagement: Building the foundation for a dog that wants to work with you.

  • Early Socialization: Navigating the world with curiosity rather than fear.

  • Everyday Routines: Practical support for house manners, crate training, and potty routines.

  • Basic Cues: Introducing essential skills at a pace that supports real-world success.

  • Confidence & Connection: Prioritizing your relationship over rushing milestones.

Format: Zoom, In-Person, Hybrid, or Day Training

Life Skills Coaching
(Adolescents & Adults)

Life skills are the practical behaviors that make living together easier—at home and out in the world. Whether your dog is navigating their "teenage" months or struggling with more persistent challenges, we build a customized plan that fits your life.

I help you clear up the confusion of "selective hearing" by building the communication and calm habits you and your dog need to navigate your world together.

What we’ll focus on together:

  • Loose-leash walking: Moving from "pulling" to "partnership" on walks.

  • Polite Greetings: Managing jumping and overexcitement with calm habits.

  • Public Focus: Building confidence at coffee shops, parks, and on the trail.

  • Recall: Building a reliable "come" when it matters most.

  • Everyday Challenges: Compassionate support for barking, impulse control, or uncertainty.

Format: Zoom, In-Person, Hybrid, or Day Training

Note: Cases involving severe separation anxiety or aggression are outside the scope of this service. I am happy to provide referrals to specialists for these specific needs.

LifeSkills

Cooperative Care

Grooming and vet visits don’t have to be stressful. Using gentle, consent-based techniques, we work to transform necessary care into a calm, predictable routine where your dog (or cat!) is an active participant.

I help you build a foundation of trust so that handling—whether for a nail trim at home or an exam at the clinic—becomes a manageable, shared experience.

What we’ll focus on together:

  • Body Language Literacy: Learning to read the subtle signs of comfort and stress in your pet so you know when to proceed and when to pause.

  • Stress-Free Handling: Practical training for nail trims, brushing, and coat maintenance at your pet's pace.

  • Vet & Clinical Prep: Building comfort with physical exams, injections, and—for our feline friends—low-stress carrier conditioning.

  • Confidence & Safety: Positive associations with medical tools and specialized handling techniques for peace of mind.

Format: Zoom, In-Person, Hybrid, or Day Training

Ways to Work Together

Every household and schedule is different. My goal is to meet you and your dog where you are—offering flexible, collaborative coaching that fits into the reality of busy workdays and full calendars.

Virtual Coaching
Ideal for building a calm, distraction-free foundation. By working in your dog's natural environment via Zoom, we ensure they are learning to listen to you rather than a visiting stranger. This is a low-stress, highly effective way to start your training journey, and includes custom-designed visual guides to support your practice.

Private In-Person Sessions
Best for navigating real-world distractions or complex environmental behaviors. We meet in your home or at a local dog-friendly location to work hands-on, focusing on the skills you need for life on the go.

Custom Training Packages & Hybrid Coaching

The most lasting results come from consistency and a structured approach. I offer multi-session packages that can be fully customized to fit your goals—often combining Virtual Coaching to build a calm, distraction-free foundation at home with In-Person Sessions to navigate real-world environments.

These packages offer the best value and ongoing support as your dog’s skills develop. View package options and discounts
