Dog Training

Finding the Right Companion
Choosing a dog is about more than looks or breed — it’s about finding a companion that fits your lifestyle, expectations, and daily rhythms.
This service supports thoughtful decision-making before a dog comes home, helping set everyone up for a smoother start together.
What we'll explore together:
-
Puppy vs. adult dog considerations

Energy level and lifestyle matching
-
Guidance and research around breeders, shelters, and rescues
-
Honest conversations about time, routines, and support needs
-
In-person or virtual observations of dogs you're considering (when available)
-
Guidance on assessing temperament and household compatibility
-
Thoughtful conversations about what you hope to do together — and honest guidance about which dogs might be a good fit
Format: Zoom or in-person
Bright
Beginnings
(puppies)
The early weeks and months with a puppy are about more than teaching skills — they’re about building trust, confidence, and a positive relationship that lasts.
Puppy sessions focus on fun, playful, positive, reward-based training that helps puppies learn about the world, settle into everyday routines, and build comfort with handling for vet and grooming visits.
We'll focus on:
-
Attention and engagement
-
Early socialization
-
House manners
-
Crate and potty routines
-
Basic cues
This approach prioritizes confidence and connection over rushing milestones, helping skills stick as your puppy grows.
Format: Zoom, in-person, hybrid, or day training

Life Skills
(Adolescents & Adults)
Life skills focus on the everyday behaviors that make living together easier and more enjoyable — at home and out in the world. Whether your dog is learning these skills for the first time or struggling with more persistent challenges, sessions use fun, positive training to build confidence, communication, and calm habits.
Training is playful and positive, focused on building skills that work in everyday life. We'll work at your dog's pace, building skills that fit into your daily routine.
We'll focus on:
-
Loose-leash walking
-
Polite greetings, jumping, and impulse control
-
Barking and overexcitement
-
Recall and everyday responsiveness
-
Calm behavior at home and in public spaces
-
Fearfulness or uncertainty in everyday situations
We'll build skills that stick and hold up in real-world situations - at home, out in public, and everywhere in between.
Format: Zoom, in-person, hybrid, or day training
Extra Support
Sometimes dogs need a little extra help navigating everyday challenges - whether it's intense jumping that doesn't settle, barking that's hard to interrupt, or fearfulness that makes daily life stressful. This service provides patient, compassionate support using positive training that builds understanding, confidence, and trust — not pressure or quick fixes.
The emphasis is on figuring out why a behavior is happening and helping your dog learn more comfortable alternatives at a pace that supports real, lasting change.
We'll focus on:
-
Jumping and overexcitement
-
Barking and impulse control
-
Leash pulling
-
Fearfulness or uncertainty in everyday situations
This work takes patience and time - progress may feel gradual, but it's built to last.
Format: Zoom, in-person, hybrid, or day training

Ways to Work Together
Every household and schedule is different. Training options are designed to be flexible and collaborative, meeting people and dogs where they are — including the reality of busy workdays, full calendars, and everyday life with dogs.
Private Sessions
In-person or Zoom sessions where we work together in real time. You'll learn alongside your dog, so you can practice between sessions and troubleshoot as questions come up.
Day Training
I work with your dog while you're at work or out for the day, then show you exactly what we practiced so you can maintain the skills at home. Great for busy schedules or dogs who need more frequent repetition.
Packages
Multi-session packages provide consistency and support as skills develop over time. Training works best with repetition - packages offer better value and continuity for lasting results.
Not sure which option fits best? Let's talk - I can help you figure out what makes sense for your situation.
Aggression and separation anxiety cases are outside the scope of this service.
Referrals are available to help you find qualified professionals who specialize in those concerns.
